FeliciaDivine: to start off…how did you first get involved with IMVU…did you come here thinking you would be a designer???

Geooo: no not at all… actually my 11 year old showed me it… she kept saying mum come and see this you will like it and I kept putting her off until finally to shut her up I looked

Geooo: i was on for about 2 weeks shopping for clothes etc and couldnt find much i liked with bling in my style

Geooo: so started to make stuff for myself

Geooo: the second dress I made was a overnight success

Geooo: it had spiders and webs on it lol

FeliciaDivine: was it hard to make your first textures? or do you have a computer arts background? i have not seen anything matching your style

FeliciaDivine: even the best pros i dont think have that glossy sparkly effect yours has…it looks spectacular but difficult

Geooo: everything i have done has been self taught.. no schooling for it… i have always loved painting and designing

FeliciaDivine: wow

Geooo: it took me awhile to get the shine and glitter to what u see today.. but i knew what look i wanted and just kept trying

FeliciaDivine: you started on IMVU when it was young and your style is still way ahead of most

FeliciaDivine: what was it like back then? from your point of view?

Geooo: yes a long time ago lol.. not many of those devs remain now and back then it was nice to be here and there where so many nice ppl… things are definately different now and not sure for the better

FeliciaDivine: do you credit any designers for influencing your style, it is so unique, but you must have had some designers or meshers you respected?

Geooo: i always loved Silkspinner.. she doesnt seem to be around anymore but to me she was the best here … her graphics were flawless

FeliciaDivine: what made you decide to start doing mesh’s…i do remember when that started…you had great ideas from the start

Geooo: i wanted to be like her when i grew up

Geooo: well i worked closely with a few meshers when i wanted something spacific to dev from… and after a couple of years i thought well why not make my own

Geooo: DarkIdeas was the best mesher in my opinion and he helped me when i couldnt figure how to do something on my own

FeliciaDivine: he is great!

FeliciaDivine: I noticed you have a variety of themes and styles, did you choose the theme or color first, i notice each theme has a different color, is that on purpose?

Geooo: definatly on purpose to distinguish easily between them

FeliciaDivine: smart and they look great

FeliciaDivine: You have a great support network, surrounding yourself with friends, such as DRlZZT, how did that come about?

FeliciaDivine: did you seek out people at the start? or did they just show up?

Geooo: not sure exactly.. people tend to come and go .. they want to be involved and so i would put them to work depending on their skillset 🙂

FeliciaDivine: your sort of like the spider in the center of a web, fits your themes well, appropriate since i once said you could replace Llolth the Spider Queen…did you decide to do Drow early on?

Geooo: yes very early… after the second dress i made I was visited by one of the Drow community and loved the idea… i so love fantasy and to me if we are to be in a fantasy world why would you want to be human

FeliciaDivine: thats a good point

Geooo: especially if you can be anyone or anything

FeliciaDivine: you said the Mezmer Dress is your favorite, mine is the BloodRose Gown…i should ask, of all the products you have done, what are you most proud of?

Geooo: oh boy that is a hard question

FeliciaDivine: what gives you the best memories 🙂

Geooo: the bloodrose icon I created is very special to me, so that stands out most

Geooo: i knew it would sell well and it even passed my expectations

FeliciaDivine: and it is a fan favorite too, very distinctive, i have seen several BloodRose Role Play Groups

Geooo: yes and ppl have even taken the last name Bloodrose

katrinasLuck: I love the Mesmer gown…

Geooo: i do too kat… but i dont think it got seen enough because the bloodrose over powered it

FeliciaDivine: i think that is accurate too

Geooo: the other collection that i love is the Divine line

FeliciaDivine: your outfits Kuang and Argus…it is a totally different style to your other items, why is that?

FeliciaDivine: ooooo i parade around in that often 🙂

FeliciaDivine: i show it off at all fashion shows

Geooo: yes i think u cant beat gold and white

katrinasLuck: and then there is the Vanity Gown…

Geooo: the kuang is part of a line i tried a long time back to see if i liked the style

FeliciaDivine: The Vanity Gowns are expensive, exclusive but they are the most detailed complex gowns, worth the price

Geooo: cause i also love chinese themed rl stuff … but there is ,,, or was a japanese / chinese dev that does great stuff

Geooo: the Vanity Gowns where a special order for someone … it was inspired by their taste … when i make something like that I tend to speak to the person for a bit to get the feel of what they desire and then go to work

FeliciaDivine: mmm maybe Geo wont think they are the most complex though, the Gold Dragon and Jade Serpent are really exceptionaly well done and i feel underpriced

katrinasLuck: those are just striking!!

Geooo: i do have to say the Jade Serpent took alot of work and I think are better than most i have done

Geooo: and the colors are different than what u would normally see

FeliciaDivine: some argue Geo is expensive, i argue if you want quality (which Geo products are) you have to pay

FeliciaDivine: and compared to other designers, the prices are normal

Geooo: well when i first started those prices were normal… its just that so many try to undercut to get sales

Geooo: and im not going to work for nothing

FeliciaDivine: that makes a lot of sense, people do forget that some devs had had these items in the catalog for years

katrinasLuck: sure, I kvetch about the prices, but if I want something, I’m willing to pay for it…

FeliciaDivine: did you do a lot of specialty items in the past?

Geooo: i have yes

FeliciaDivine: your themes are well thought out, i dont see how you fit any in?

FeliciaDivine: i know i commissioned the Crystal Rose but it was meant to compliment the Ice series, i wanted a blend of BloodRose and Ice

Geooo: well i used to just sleep and do imvu lol.. that was all for alot of years

FeliciaDivine: omg, that is so bad

FeliciaDivine: but it shows in your work, it is spectacular

Geooo: ty kat… that was a promo bundle way back… the first day it sold over 1mill

Geooo: sadly imvu doesnt accept fantasy bundles anymore.. they only promote real looking things

FeliciaDivine: going back to my earlier statement…that was how we met…i came in your room and asked if i could redo the BloodRose logo in Ice…you told me “No”…i told you i love your work and was about to leave but asked if you would consider doing the logo and set yourself…you said you would…and you did…but you did not redo the bloodrose logo in ice, you used the current full rose with pearls…do you remember what you said to me, why you changed the logo?

Geooo: umm maybe lol

Geooo: the Bloodrose was special and the last thing i wanted to do was have it in different colors

Geooo: hmmm lets see… I was playing Runescape back then lol… and then Guild Wars.. then got involved in a game company called Aera Games

Geooo: then I saw a tv news report on Second Life and tried it

Geooo: it was fun… spent way to much money on there… tried to work out how to make things and had no idea

Geooo: and then my daughter showed me this

Geooo: i actually uploaded my first mesh on Second life yesterday

FeliciaDivine: is there a special moment you would be willing to share that happened here on IMVU?

FeliciaDivine: I remember one…the day 2 men came into your art gallery and started to argue…you were about to kick them out…then you could hear a pin drop….one of them realized “Your THE GEO????”, i almost burst out laughing 🙂

FeliciaDivine: ok moving into the future….what can we expect from you, where do you want to take your career?

FeliciaDivine: i mean what would you like to do and what would you like to see happen on IMVU (that is 2 seperate questions)

Geooo: i would like to concentrait on my meshing more… and get that out there to be seen as I try to make things easy to dev from

Geooo: as i said I have started meshing hair on Geoo and have some nice things on my new GeoArmory account

Editor’s Note: At this point i saved the interview, we had a fun time chatting but it was about new products, our ages, and with the room filling up with great people and some newcomers we stopped the interview. I cannot imagine anyone at least not peeking at Geo’s catalog, some love it, some dont, its a matter of taste and style…personally i love the fantasy and bling her creativity brings to our lives…i look forward to her new creations 🙂
